Seminar for Persons in charge of Central Enterprises (partial) was held in Chinalco on Jan 4 2008. Shao Ning, Vice Chairman and party committee member of SASAC of the State Council hosted the seminar and listened to the reporting made by related enterprises.

　　Xiao Yaqing, party secretary and President, reported the development of Chinalco in 2007 in the meeting and implementation of the spirit of the 17th National Congress of the CPC, the Central Economic Work Conference and The Conference for Persons in charge of Central Enterprises as well as Chinalco’s work arrangement for 2008. Responsible persons from Shenhua Group Co Ltd, China National Coal Group Corp, Sino Steel Corporation, China Iron & Steel Research Institute Group, China South Railway Group Corp reported their work. Attendees of the meeting discussed the impact of the new Labor Law on businesses and raised suggestions on it.

　　Shao Ning pointed out that the central enterprises developed in good momentum in 2007. Many enterprises speeded up development through horizontal acquisition, innovation in business model and strengthened basic management. While accelerating development, the central enterprises also intensify efforts on business innovation and basic management.　　

　　Shao Ning analyzed the situation facing central enterprises in 2008. He pointed that stringent macro-control policy, higher cost and implementation of the new Labor Law brought impact and challenges to the central enterprises to different extents. He hopes that enterprises shall make careful studies to meet these challenges actively.
